During the first wave of the Corona pandemic, we have seen huge efforts to cope with an external stress to countries, operations and people. It is a reality check for BCP, flexibility, agility and innovation, and of course for internal and external IT infrastructures.

Instead of labelling the achievements as a huge step for digital transformation, or even as a success, we should now take control and lead the change.

It is the time.

More than a decade ago, Esther Schütz and I toured with a presentation which is still relevant. It gives an an overview on some aspects of our research on the dependencies between economy, mortality and morbidity. Under the light of the 2002 SARS, 2006 Bird flu and later the Swine Flu we contributed to shaping the PartnerRe risk management and pricing views.
